Sub Zero ‘Oo baby’ | ‘Motion’
Following Potential Bad Boy’s first 12″ of 2010, the 37th release on DJ Hype & Pascal’s Ganja Recordings imprint comes courtesy of ex-G Dub member, Sub Zero.
Putting himself to work in the studio Sub Zero comes up with his second high quality 12″ since going solo last year, and it’s another pair of immense bangers.
Taking the opportunity to seize the current old skool jungle revival by the throat, Sub Zero turns out oOH baby, a rinsing combination of clattering breakbeats, pounding bass notes and ragga samples – and that’s all before it really drops! Warping early’90s bassline business awaits as cheeky female vocals scatter over the top.
Motion is more straight up modern D&B, but still with plenty of that distinctive Ganja flavour. Grinding mid-range synths punctuate the mix as rattling drums and intense, rising bass give this one that inevitable dancefloor quality.
