Following the success of his tracks on the ‘Nightstalker E.P’ UK drum and bass artist ‘Fractals’ is back with another hot release. The ‘Forward in Time E.P’ is a forward thinking journey into the dark, surreal world of Fractals.
Mixmag described Fractals last release as ‘sonically a cut above anything else’ and we certainly agree with them.
Fractals, or Jim Wheatley to his friends, was once a member of Ableton mash up crew Vinyl[ABORT] and has gone from supporting ‘Chase and Status’ on tour to locking himself away inside his Manchester studio to work on his Fractals project.
His sound is refreshingly disturbing and makes much use of the Killscreen ‘less is more’ ethos.
From the Growling minimalist title track ‘In Time’ through to the bass blasting ‘Ego’, the uplifting throws of ‘Dark Matter’ and the haunting reggae echos of ‘Electron Dub’ the EP displays a mastery of the genre and cements another future classic into the Fractals back catalogue.
