Release Date: 22nd July 2013
Label chief DJ Manga is the architect of an iconic style and unique presence, with releases on so many different labels that his Cyber-Punk world has collided with and sparked dance floor madness in each and every one of us. A DJ of excellent caliber, Manga’s notable club expo’s include Hidden, Area, SE1, the Notting Hill Carnival and the Brixton Mass. First known for his release on Cyntax Error, ‘Visionaries’, Manga’s production expertise was finally allowed free rein with the launch of Neutronic Beats in 2011. Now rocking the show with this latest E.P. of firin’ jump-up juice, we ask can this man do no wrong?!
With an overture of affecting filtered strings, this hard step monster breaks into old skool jungle cow bell percussion and the tightest of compressed kicks. A high-resolution, delayed bass is skilfully partnered with deadly noisy mutations to deliver a powerful punch to the midsection while soft subs vibrate hard enough to knock your breath away!
Manga steps up the pressure in this ominous darkcore odyssey. An ode to the strongest character of all the Guyver, this track features the unmissable ‘You shouldn’t anger a Demigod’ vocal and sinister violin pizzicato. Crazily manipulated sweeps raise the hairs on the back of your neck as the bass stutters, warps, goes totally berserk and digital frogs gribbitt in your ears. Absolutely essential!
Featuring the sublime vocals of the gorgeous Reiri, this track really epitomizes the Japanese hybrid sound which Manga has become so well known for. A profound message is expertly delivered in drum step format as Reiri asks us ‘What is it you seek?” Distorted rock guitar builds the pressure before dropping into another high reso bass pattern, punctuated with metal plectrum fretwork. A powerful track which will be making us moist for the rest of the summer!
An homage to the supreme Zoaforms of The Guyver- the Zoalord. “…They warned us that some kind of MONSTERS had started appearing in the area… All I could do was stand and watch in horror as my colleagues were torn limb from limb..” Probably the darkest and most awe inspiring track of the E.P. The prelude features menacing horns to accompany the animation samples before dropping to a steppers break and trademark insane metropolitan bass twists. An absolutely stunning production sure to be a huge hit with the heads.
