A.M.C’s Titan Records are excited to reveal a new addition to their talented roster of contributors… Make way for the man like Callide!
Those who know their drum & bass will be more than familiar with this Gloucester-based artist. A strong sonic currency since 2006 with cuts on labels such as Ram Records, and a major player behind the scenes as a distribution guru and label mogul.
For his Titan debut Callide proves his musical might – and more – with two sterling slammers that refuse to be categorised in any of drum & bass’s endless sub genres and flavours. File simply under ‘timeless’, both ‘Drop Bombs’ and ‘Pulse Wave’ explore the fertile pastures of early 2000 drum & bass sound while delivered with high impact production muscle.
‘Drop Bombs’ takes the lead. Harbouring a stark, sharp pneumatic two-step rhythm, each element builds gradually as we’re assaulted with a series of roaring low end textures and pummelling heartbeat bass shots.
‘Pulse Wave’ follows with equally alarming undercurrents. Searing and sneering with an overwhelming sense of metallic mischief, this one is all about the bass riff. Precision licks that slam and shudder with lazer-like focus, it rifles with deadly funk and attitude.
Two killer cuts delivered with distinction, Callide’s position at the very forefront of D&B is undeniable… And no other release showcases that with such clarity than this latest Titan outing.
