Simple
Dj Simple was born in the late nineties because there were too many Dj’s around with cool sounding names. Before that he was just plain David.
Whilst he was just plain David he was in a band The Sample Terrorists with mates, including the notorious BPM, or just plain Katherine as we knew her then.
Dj Simple started out playing sets for the notorious Bevin on amorphous nights at the notorious Goldsmiths Tavern in New Cross, where he was continually frisked by the bouncer, Jerry. Jerry knew the bag contained records, it was no secret that Jerry fancied Dj Simple, understandable as he is an extremely attractive chap.
During the amorphous days, Dj Simple was on the end of a mobile phone and would travel to many dodgy venue and entertain crowds with his manual dexterity on the turntables. Most notable gig the button factory in Loughborough Junction, an anarchist stronghold (police description) where he played the drum n bass to around 200 angry punks, ”sweat was dripping from the ceiling, I thought they were going to bottle me off the stage” he later recalls.
Another memorable gig was to a packed room in a Tottenham squat, a three hour back to back with Smuttley, ” the top floor of the building was on fire, we only stopped playing because the fire brigade asked us to keep the noise down” he exclaimed when interviewed.
Dj Simple has now changed his name by deed pole to simple, because there are too many Dj Simple’s in the world and it’s much shorter and easy to remember.
When asked what he’s up to these days he replied, ” I like noise, I’m getting back into production and making noise, check out mr-bloor on soundcloud, oh and more recently I’m really into loosing hair”. Legendary
