Integral Select LP – Integral Records

Introducing the Integral Select LP – the highly anticipated, long-awaited compilation album from Integral Records set to catapult the well-respected label back to the forefront. Set up in 2007 by influential, legends in the game, Glenn Herweijer and Zula Warner aka Artificial Intelligence, the 25-strong discography represents all styles of drum & bass music with that extra edge and a quality that resonates with the passionate pair. The label has been influential in breaking artists such as Lenzman, Alix Perez, Technimatic, Survival and Lomax; and the new album will celebrate these significant talents amongst a showcase of Integral’s new recruits.

Following the album sampler which dropped last month, June 16 will see the epic double-pack vinyl LP hit the shelves, which will come packaged with a bonus copy of the 13-track compilation CD.

Reinvigorating Integral classics from the archives, the LP vinyl edition will feature the cream of the crop in the form of three fresh remixes alongside a brand new dancefloor smasher from Survival and Script’s new duo project, Scar.

Plate 1 presents a super smooth remix from Alix Perez of Zero T’s legendary “Refusal” featuring the soulful Steo, formerly re-worked by Calibre. Crafting his signature style of liquid funk magic, Perez’s effortless update keeps the tip nice and deep; in a definitive dancefloor refresh. On the flip, Calibre takes us to his wondrous subterranean place with a killer remix of Technicolour, Komatic and LSB’s magnificent “Rotary Motion”. With a mesmerizing intro that instantly captures, the dancefloor drop and enigmatic pulse reaffirm the fact that everything this producer touches truly does turn to gold.

The second plate features Technimatic’s re-work of Lenzman & Redeyes’ 2009 liquid jazz anthem, “Thieves In The Night”. With their hyper-coloured, uplifting and emotionally charged party vibes at the centre, this musical drum & bass extravaganza is set for the crowd peak. Scar’s impressive debut for Integral features on the reverse, fusing heavy breaks and nasty funk bass with a wash of oldschool, soaring pads and ethereal vocal reminiscent of the “Timeless” era. Deep soul meets the dark and gritty undergound in “Something From Nothing”.

These four tracks are taken from the full CD release.

The Integral Select LP is not to be missed! Stay tuned for info on the release of the follow-up album single (INTLP001C) which will complete the 4-piece vinyl series.
